Sila and Mirfa Community Harbours Achieve Prestigious 5 Gold Anchors

Accolade demonstrates commitment to operational excellence

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 13 June 2024: The Department of Municipalities and Transport, represented by Abu Dhabi Mobility in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Maritime, part of AD Ports Group, has announced that Sila and Mirfa Community Harbours in the Al Dhafra region have been awarded the esteemed 5 Gold Anchors accreditation by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) for operational excellence.
Gold Anchor is a well-established global accreditation aimed at enhancing marina standards and customer-focused services. Gold Anchor marinas are subject to independent audit(s) by industry experts and on-going verification including customer surveys. By achieving Gold Anchor status, a marina gains credibility, enhancing its reputation within the industry and among the boating community. It also provides assurance to users that facilities and services are of a high standard.

Both Sila Community Harbour, inaugurated earlier by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Mirfa Community Harbour have been upgraded to provide advanced infrastructure and facilities to serve the local community and fishing industry, including a dhow quay wall, wet berthing, dry berthing, fish market, administration buildings and restaurants, boat cleaning and launching in a safe controlled environment.

The Department of Municipalities and Transport, represented by Abu Dhabi Mobility in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Maritime, part of AD Ports Group had been raising the bar across all areas within the emirate’s maritime domain, facilitating Abu Dhabi’s prominence as a leading global maritime hub.
